Class of 1959 Reunion Pictures

On Friday, June 21, 2024, eleven members of the Class of 1959, with their guests, enjoyed a memorable milestone, their 65 th reunion. The evening was celebrated at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course Club House in Brecksville, in conjunction with the Alumni Reunion. A delicious buffet dinner was served offering heavy appetizers and dessert. This provided attendees with a less structured evening and more time for socializing. Classmates enjoyed a wonderful evening reminiscing about the “good old days, at Brecksville High School.” Noteworthy memorabilia on display included classroom photos from all twelve grades, varsity letters and the original senior prom guest book. A list of deceased classmates and former reunion photos were also displayed. Many friendships were rekindled during the evening.

Class of 1964 Reunion Pictures

The Class of 1964 celebrated their 60th reunion on June 21st at the Alumni Reunion and on June 22nd at The Wild Eagle Steak & Saloon. Classmates enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and a bit of competition while playing the games. Fun was had by all!

Class of 1973 Reunion Pictures

The Brecksville High School Class of 1973 celebrated their 50th reunion with a series of events on June 29-July 2, 2023. The event, which was over a year in the planning, was chaired by Jeffrey Compton, David Kordalski and Sherry Zak Morris.

Our reunion started Thursday night with a no-reservation come-as-you-are outside gathering attracted two-many classmates including a few who could not make any other event due to other obligations. The great fun was that several of the attendees were not expected at all that weekend-and it was a special joy to see them. Friday morning many of us took a tour of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middles School, which was our old high school. We also had the opportunity to tour the current high school, It is truly a world class 21 st century educational facility-and home to one of the best high school robotics labs in the world.

Friday night was the high point of the weekend! We enjoyed a buffet of filling hot and cold appetizers with a cash bar. This allowed classmates to move around and chat with as many classmates as possible. Saturday, the Class of 1973 enjoyed a picnic at the Brecksville Reservation’s Oak Grove catered by Simon’s Restaurant & Deli of Brecksville. Following the event, many strong-arm class members headed to the London Pickle Works to finish off the evening. On Sunday morning, we met at Panera in Brecksville for our final good-byes. The coffee, food and especially the conversations were a great way to end an out 50th year celebration. A 55th reunion is already in the works for 2028!

Class of 1974 Reunion Pictures

The Class of ’74 celebrated their 50 th year reunion on September 19th through September 21 st, 2024. Over 115 ’74 grads attended, with classmates flying or driving in from California, New
Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Nebraska, Tennessee, Washington, Utah, and Maryland.

Our reunion started at the Broadview Brewing Company on a beautiful Indian summer evening. We were hoping to see 25-30 classmates, but we were surprised and thrilled to see over 50 ’74
grads attend this event. It was simply wonderful to see so many familiar faces. Before we knew it, we were told that we needed to leave – they were locking the doors. It was an amazing night!

On Friday we had a picnic at Oak Grove in the Brecksville Reservation which was catered by Simon’s Restaurant & Deli. Many who came brought yearbooks and photos to share. We enjoyed another wonderful evening together. Classmates were sharing memories of our time together in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools. Some of us attended school in Brecksville/Broadview Heights from Kindergarten through 12 the grade, others joined us along the way. The pavilion was filled with laughter all night long. Afterwards, we continued to enjoy each
other’s company at the London Pickle Works.

On Saturday morning, about 25 classmates met up at our old high school which is now the middle school. Middle School principal Todd Rings gave us a tour of the building. Many things had changed in the building and many things were still the same. It was as if we were all 16 years old again. The tour was definitely worth taking.

Saturday night was the big event at Sleepy Hollow. We enjoyed an appetizer buffet and cash bar. No one wanted to sit down; we all just wanted to talk to one another. The room was filled with laughter and smiles. Photos were taken, and memories were shared. Three of our teachers were in attendance: James Harbuck, Nancy Herchler and Allan Pintner. It was so much fun seeing everyone. No one wanted the evening to end. It was magical! Class of 1984 Reunion Pictures

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Class of 1984 celebrated their 40 year class reunion in 1984 style on September 14, 2024!  The event was held at an unusually unique local venue in Broadview Heights, XGOLF, which offers plenty of party space including room for a DJ, full service bar, food, lounge and state of the art indoor golf simulators. The space was transformed into an 80's party with the golf bays converted into VIP lounges with light up furniture, neon color backdrops for photo opportunities, MTV signs, 80’s movies and music videos and senior class yearbook photos streaming on the big screens.

No detail was left out including a professional photographer taking photos for a new yearbook and individual photos available for purchase and hair products and toiletries from the 80's in the bathrooms and two school inspired signature cocktails “The State Champ” and the “Bee-otch”. We also honored those we have lost over the years and also our veteran classmate Richard McKee gave a personal heartfelt memorial to Anthony “Tony”; Soukup who passed away in 2015.

Valentis restaurant catering was a hit and Darlene Beaver-Hudeck even made delicious peanut butter balls that were famous in the high school cafeteria back in the day.  We were grateful for the wonderful turnout with over 100 in attendance and classmates flying in from 8 different states!  We look forward to not waiting another 10 years to host some casual gatherings over the next few years for the many that would have liked to attend but were not able to make the date so stay tuned!

Tina Salerno-Nielsen, Mike Grgat and Jenifer Banks Margolis were the planning committee and Tina's two daughters, husband and cousin Dominick Palazzo of Extremely Social event planning also helped to make this such an exceptionally rare reunion.

Class of 1994 Reunion Pictures

The 30 year reunion for the BBHHS class of 1994 brought back a flood of memories as we gathered at the Wild Eagle Steak & Saloon in Broadview Hts.  Laughter echoed through the room as we shared stories about old times and even had an extra chuckle reviewing our Senior Wills!  It was heartwarming to see how many classmates had stayed connected over the years, and to catch up on everyone’s career and family updates.

Class of 2004 Reunion Pictures

The BBHHS Class of 2004 gathered for our 20th reunion in October at Forest City Shuffleboard in Ohio City. We had more than 80 alumni and partners join us, and the night was filled with looking through old yearbooks and reminiscing about our high school years over cocktails and games of shuffleboard. We also facilitated a 50/50 raffle which raised money for a classmate who is currently undergoing a health hardship. Thanks to the planning committee of Shawn Miko, Sean McCafferty, Ian Jacob, and Tracey Niederhelman Marks for putting on such a fun event! Looking forward to 2029!
